Abstrak

Pengajaran keterampilan membaca dasar sangat penting untuk pengembangan keterampilan membaca, jadi perlu dimulai sejak awal, terutama di kelas I. Namun, banyak siswa di sekolah dasar yang menghadapi kesulitan saat mulai belajar membaca, menggabungkan suku kata menjadi kata, mengucapkan suku kata, dan mengenal huruf ialah beberapa kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa. Adapun masalah yang akan dibahas antara lain (1) Faktor penghambat siswa dalam belajar membaca permulaan, (2) Bentuk kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa yang berpotensi menghambat membaca permulaan, (3) Upaya guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca permulaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) Agar mengetahui penghambat siswa dalam membaca permulaan, (2) Agar mengetahui bentuk kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa, (3) Agar mengetahui upaya guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca permulaan. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observsi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (1) Ada dua faktor yang menghambat membaca permulaan yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal, faktor internal mencakup dua aspek yaitu aspek fisik dan psikologis, sedangkan faktor eksternal mencakup pengaruh dari luar seperti kurangnya dukungan keluarga, faktor teman dan sekolah, (2) Bentuk kesulitan yang dihadapi ada dua yaitu kesulitan mengenal huruf serta menggabungkan suku kata, (3) Upaya yang dilakukan guru yaitu dengan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai atau menarik serta kegiatan literasi sebelum mulai pembelajaran.

 

Teaching basic reading skills is very important for the development of reading skills, so it needs to be started early, especially in grade I. However, many students in elementary school face difficulties when starting to learn to read, combining syllables into words, pronouncing syllables, and recognizing letters are some of the difficulties faced by students. The problems that will be discussed include (1) Factors that inhibit students in learning to read early, (2) Forms of difficulties faced by students that have the potential to inhibit early reading, (3) Teachers' efforts in overcoming difficulties in reading early. This study aims to (1) To find out the obstacles for students in reading early, (2) To find out the forms of difficulties faced by students, (3) To find out teachers' efforts in overcoming difficulties in reading early.. Data collection methods were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed (1) There are two factors that inhibit beginning reading, namely internal and external factors. Internal factors include two aspects, namely physical and psychological aspects, while external factors include external influences such as lack of family support, friend and school factors, (2) There are two forms of difficulties faced, namely difficulty recognizing letters and combining syllables, (3) Efforts made by teachers, namely using appropriate or interesting learning methods and literacy activities before starting learning.
